![]() The Wolfpack went back-to-back winning both conference team trophies in 2018-19 and again in 2019-20 for the first time since the 20 seasons, and three straight regular season titles for the first time since 2000-02. In the last seven seasons, NC State has qualified 63 of its 70 starters. In his 10 seasons overall, Popolizio has had 76 NCAA qualifiers, highlighted by a school record 10 in both 20. Over the last two seasons, NC State has had seven All-Americans. In 2018, NC State set a school-best with four All-Americans, including an all-time ACC-best two NCAA finalists, and betterd that mark in 2020 with six All-Americans named by the NWCA. Popolizio has captured five ACC Championships, including four straight (2019, 2020, 20). In 10 seasons under Popolizio, NC State Wrestling has had: He has been named ACC Coach of the Year three time, in 2018, 2020, and 2021. He has also been a finalist for the NWCA Division I National Coach of the Year each of the last five years in 2018, 2019, 2020, 2021, and 2022. Popolizio was named the 2018 Dan Gable co-NCAA Coach of the Year and the 2016 National Coach of the Year by FloWrestling. The 2022-23 wrestling season marks Pat Popolizio’s 11th at the helm of the NC State wrestling program, as he was named head wrestling coach of the Wolfpack on April 10, 2012.
